I graduated with distinction from the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Alberta in 1993, and have been a hygienist with North Central Dental for the past 18 years. I live on an acreage with a menagerie of animals including 12 horses. I have 3 sons and two granddaughters who I love spending time with. I live in St. Albert with my husband Glenn and our 2 boys, Nolan and Ethan and our golden retriever named Indy. Since 1996 I have been working as a Registered Dental Hygienist at North Central Dental either full-time, part-time or as temporary staff. Currently I am working up to 3 days a week and each spring I look forward to going to NAIT to help with the students as a clinical instructor. Working part time allows me the opportunity to work in the career I enjoy, and to spend more time with my family, become more involved in their school and extracurricular activities. They are involved in hockey, snowboarding, football and baseball. During the winter we usually try to get a few ski trips in as everyone seems to enjoy the mountain experience. I am definitely the beginner skier in our family! For a few years I have enjoyed curling in the ladies league which is a lot of fun and a lot of laughs. About 5 years ago we finally built our cabin where we now spend most of our summers enjoying the lake life! Cheers!
Hi! My name is Ruth. I graduated from the University of Alberta in 1978 with a diploma in Dental Hygiene. Since then, I have worked either full time or part time in a number of dental offices in and around Edmonton. I started working at North Central Dental as a temp in 1995…..and I’m still here! This is due not only to the great people that I work with, but also because of all the wonderful patients I have had the privilege to get to know over the years.
Those who have spent time in my chair know that I love cats (even hairless ones), but I also enjoy reading, golf, travel and my weekly tap dancing class.
When asked if I am about to retire I say “I can’t yet. I still like my job too much!” Thanks and best wishes to you all!
